Patanjali recommends the eightfold process of yoga to attain perfect peace of mind, or samadhi. This involves living a virtuous, disciplined life, and cultivating a practice of regular meditation, among other things. As a shortcut, he also recommends submission to Ishvara, or our original conscious source. This is the path of bhakti yoga. It’s much easier than ashtanga yoga, or the eightfold process of strict meditation which is commonly associated with Patanjali’s Yoga Sutras.
